The word beauty by definition is a combination of qualities, wether it is shape, tone, or form that pleases the aesthetic senses (mainly sight). We have always been told that beauty comes from with in, and that looks do not matter. I am not here to tell you they do, however I do believe that if you want to work on your looks it is not something to be ashamed of. While social media and other forms of entertainment seem to portray many women as vain simply because they choose to care what they look like, it does not make you a vain person to want to take care of your self.
Throughout high school, like many others, I suffered from acne problems. How I long for the college days where that problem would be no more. Now lo and behold I am now in my 20's and still have acne. All I could think of is what happened to those promises where as an adult I would have many problems but acne would not be one of them. I tried so many brands of makeup and skin care products that I had run out of room in my cabinets. I was starting to give up, when a thought came to me, " why do I look for the safest most natural things to consume and I dont do the same for the things I put on my body?". That thought rang trough my head until I finally started doing some research. That research revealed many things such as your skin is the largest organ in your body, it only takes 26 seconds for your skin to absorb anything you put on it, and many other facts I was oblivious to my entire life.
After a long time of searching I finally found a company that showed promise. I ordered a few products, still skeptical about the quality, as I have tried some natural products before that did not pan out so well. The products came in fairly quickly and I was ready to get to testing. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. All their products are packed in 100% recyclable boxes. Next I noticed the elegance of the containers, they were not super flashy but they were made to look sleek and simple. The moment I put on the makeup, I was astonished!! I could not believe how silky and smooth it went on my skin, after I applied my full makeup it was time for the test. I, as many other people out there, have extremely oily skin. I will do my make up in the morning and will have to keep patting my face with either a paper towel or oil paper, an hour after application. Half way through the day I did my mirror check and the makeup looked amazing, no oily skin, makeup still on and intact. Finally I had found the product I longed for!!
Now that I had finally tried and loved the makeup it was time to get to the root of the problem, my skin. Because makeup only covers the problem instead of fixing it I ordered their skincare line. I called my mentor in the company (because at this point I loved what they were doing I decided to join them) and asked for some advice. After a long talk, I ordered what i needed, which was the balancing set and the charcoal bar. I started the routine and was terrified after the first week. Here I was expecting beautiful skin and I ended breaking out a lot more than I ever had!! A bit disappointed I decided to reach out to my mentor again. She understood my worries but encouraged me to maintain my routine for two more weeks. Discouraged, I got off the phone and decided that maybe it was just another failed attempt. Two weeks later the results were amazing!! My skin was glowing and the breakouts had stopped. I called my mentor to ask why this had happened to me. She said it was quite common, my skin was detoxifying from all those other products I had previously used. The time it takes varies per person but everyone has this detoxifying phase. Several months later I am still using the same products and still with amazing results, and the fact that they are made with safer ingredients makes it all the better.
